Honoring Memorial Day 2023 in Midtown Brandywine

by | May 26, 2023 | Events Committee

Join us in honoring Memorial Day 2023, a day of remembrance for the brave people who made the ultimate sacrifice for peace and our world. The Midtown Brandywine community will come together on May 30th at 6:30pm in our charming local Pocket Park on West Street for a brief and respectful ceremony.

Originally designated on the 30th of May, Memorial Day provides us with an opportunity to pause and reflect on the tremendous sacrifices made by our servicemen and women. It is a day to express our gratitude and pay tribute to those who selflessly fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.

We extend a warm invitation to all Midtowners to join us for this special event. The ceremony will include the rendering of Taps and a community prayer, serving as a solemn reminder of the profound significance of this day. Let us gather together as a community to honor and remember those who gave everything for our nation. The event page is here.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to our neighbor and board member, Bob Blanchard, for organizing this year’s Memorial Day event. His dedication and commitment to honoring our fallen heroes is truly commendable.

As Winston Churchill once said, “Never have so many owed so much to so few.” On this Memorial Day, let us come together as a community, united in gratitude and remembrance. We look forward to seeing you at the Pocket Park as we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
