Journey to Freedom, a Juneteenth Celebration 2023 announced

by | May 7, 2023 | Public Relations Committee

Join the YWCA Delaware as they celebrate Juneteenth with their first-ever fundraising walk, Journey to Freedom: A Juneteenth Celebration. The walk is set to take place at Glasgow Park Trail in Newark, Delaware, on Saturday, June 10th, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event is open to the public, and the registration fee is $37.31, which includes a T-shirt. Participants will have the opportunity to meet advocates and celebrate with YWCA and its mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. All funds raised from the walk will go towards supporting YWCA Delaware’s racial and social justice programming.

This is a chance to bring the community together in honor of a significant historical event, so grab your family and friends, and come out to support this important cause.

To participate, simply click the Register button on the event website and create your personal or team fundraising page. If you’re unable to participate in the walk, but still want to contribute, you can make a general donation or search for a participant to donate to.

The Midtown Brandywine Neighbors’ Association is proud to raise awareness of this event and encourages everyone in the community to join in and make a difference in the fight for racial and social justice.
