Welcome to the new Midtown Brandywine community website, MidtownBrandywine.org!
Commissioned by the Midtown Brandywine Neighbors’ Association, and designed to serve the needs of our neighbor residents and businesses, this new website launched on February 27, 2022, after aproximately eight weeks’ development.
For many years, a smallish percentage of our neighborhood residents have relied on the Midtown Brandywine community Facebook group, however it has become clear that the limited functionality of Facebook and, for some, privacy concerns, has led to community participation plateauing. The community spirit that we Midtowners exhibit towards our neighbors is remarkable, and we believe that a safe, secure and community-owned online space should be made available for everyone in our nabe. Hence, MidtownBrandywine.org, a website independent of all social media and advertising companies, has been launched!
Who among us hasn’t beamed with pride when a visitor to our home or business has remarked how lovely our neighborhood is? Many of us have chosen to move into Midtown Brandywine specifically because they fell in love with the neighborhood on a visit. So MidtownBrandywine.com also exists to introduce our delightful little patch of Wilmington to the world.
This website will continually evolve and adapt to the needs of our neighborhood. We welcome all to contribute to our site’s Midtown Brandywine Photo Gallery, Midtown Brandywine Blog, Midtown Brandywine Community Bulletin Board, Midtown Brandywine Community Calendar and other features. Verified residents are entitled to enhanced login privileges – please visit our bulletin board to create your free and secure account.
Our website has been developed as a pro-bono donation of effort by local residents Simon Cousins and Catherine Davis, proprietors of public relations and digital marketing firm Allegravita, so no cost has been incurred by the Neighbors’ Association beyond modest website hosting costs. The lovely new logo and color scheme for our neighborhood has been generously created by local resident Natasha Poppe, of Natasharts, also as a pro-bono contribution to the cultural heritage of Delaware’s loveliest neighborhood. Up-to-date event listings in our community calendar are contributed and maintained by local resident Rhea Phillips of Micromanagement Practice Guidance. A small group of motivated resident-volunteers is supporting the healthy growth and operation of this website with duties including editing our gorgeous photo gallery (thanks, Mike Anderson!) and moderating our bulletin board (thanks, Mike Yingling!)
Now, lets get to exploring Delaware’s loveliest neighborhood, on foot and finally, online too!
